Shangrila Resort (also known as Shangri-La Resort Skardu or “Heaven on Earth”) is a iconic resort hotel in Skardu, Pakistan, established in 1983 as the first upscale resort in the Northern Areas/Baltistan region. Founded by Brigadier Muhammad Aslam Khan, it features charming cottages and rooms dotted around a picturesque heart-shaped lake, surrounded by dramatic Himalayan peaks. Access is available by daily flights from Islamabad to Skardu Airport (about 45 minutes) followed by a short drive, or by road via the Karakoram Highway.
